Bless them as this tradition is in its 19th year! Thanks Tracey and Jim, and then off we headed to the Westport Parade. Loving Christmas and all the festivities. Now for the entertaining which never seems to end here on Wild Apple Lane.
In the midst of this season I have planned my Winter schedule of workshops and events so keep reading.
Sewed up the sweetest little jacket in light weight boiled wool (synthetic blend) Butterick #6253 Pockets, raw edges showing, and zip with hood to take you anywhere. Love it !
Took a day trip to fabric shops in Durham region and Judy found some fabulous red along with treasures discovered by Susan, Rosemary and Susan 2. Such a fun day with sewing companions. In the midst of my sewing sessions with Shirts, Marilyn completed the shirt for her son and went on to make Santa a new set of clothing. He was very happy as last year they got covered with soot!

Jo-Anne and the Creative Styling Elves
See you soon
Sewing classes have been scheduled almost daily and my sewing for the winter has begun. The pink Sweater set was sewn and serged using the fabric on my last post. I love when a fabric selvedge has a distinct look about it. So I tried to use the selvedge on the sweater knit to its best advantage by cutting and reapplying it along the hem of front and back of jacket. The soft modal knit was a little tricky to work with but by stabilizing seams and shoulder areas it went together in no time at all.
Shirt making, Pant Fitting and Machine Embroidery happen this week in the studio before I take a little break before Holidays.
So until next time. Wear a POPPY and say ‘Thank You” to a veteran!
