Fall Fashion Trends

Seems as if the Fashion Magazines are full of fun looks for this fall. The Flared pants especially flared jeans are back. If you are short like me then the higher heel works best to pull it off. Lucky, tall girls can handle this look with ease. Fanny packs or as I like to call them ‘Hands Free bags” are wonderful if done in a stylist fabric and made in just the right size to accommodate cc., change, tissue and lip polish. I am working on a design now and plan a fabulous day session so you can join me to create one of your own.

Knits are always around mainly due to the comfort we love about them. Knit bindings and edges can be sewn in many various ways so join me for another full day of sample knit edges.

McCall’s patterns have an excellent newsletter containing all things fashion related. The Color themes for Fall have just been posted.

Tapestry ( deep rich tones that say ‘color me fall ‘ )

Collage ( muted brights like Boysenberry and Gingerbread )

Elegance ( soft greys, blues and pinks ) My favourite as my hair color – now white- seems to lend itself to softer hues.

New patterns such as McCall’s #7196 show comfort and fashion in woven fabrics instead of knits. But never let the pattern fabric selections deter you from experimenting with fabrics.

As always I am here as your SEWING COACH.

Classes have begun and each Wednesday, Thursday and Friday the Studio is open for sewing sessions. Now booking the occasional Saturday for those who wish to continue their love of sewing but are unable to follow weekday schedule.

See you soon

September Sewing

Monthly I meet with 2 groups of sewers who have a keen interest in all things ‘Creative’. I love to see their “Show and Tell” plus hear their input on how they customized their work. This shows a lot about everyone of us, as we put our own stamp or signature on every labour of love. What did you do to change the pattern design? It helps to share our ideas and therefore the need to meet with ‘like minded’ people for, if nothing else ‘INSPIRATION’.

This week is my last week for summer sewing….. Yes, I am moving into fall and winter fabrics.sweat shop

Come share some time in my studio as we together plan, design and sew and put our signature to our projects.

See you then
